Compression dock seals

The main thing we build. Foam pads mounted to the head and both sides of your door opening; a trailer backs in, compresses them, and the compression is what closes the gap between the trailer and your building.

Every one is cut, sewn and framed to the opening it is going on. There is no catalogue size to squeeze your door into, and a custom build costs the same as a standard one because every unit is made to order either way.

How it is built

Sizing

Our standard build suits a 7′4″ wide by 8′ tall opening, which covers the most common 8′ door. Anything else we build to spec — send the opening dimensions and we will work from those. Mounting brackets are included.

Is a seal right for your dock?

Compression seals are the right product when the same trailer types back into the same doors, on standard openings of roughly 8′ to 9′. Who we build for

Warehouses and distribution centres, cold storage, food processing, manufacturing plants, municipal and school district facilities, freight terminals, and plenty of single-door operations that just want one door done properly. One seal or a row of twenty — the build is identical, and ordering a row at once usually helps the lead time rather than hurting it.

Lead time and shipping

Weeks, not months. Dock seals have an industry reputation for slow delivery, largely because most orders route through a distributor and queue behind that distributor’s other work. Ours do not — you are ordering from the shop that builds it.

If we are running longer than usual you will hear that before you order, not in week six. We ship anywhere in the United States; seals are bulky rather than heavy, so we quote freight with the unit instead of surprising you at checkout. Pick-up in Tyler is welcome.

Installation

Most maintenance crews mount their own. Brackets come with the seal and the ground-treated backing frame is drilled to land on solid wall — if your people hang doors, they can hang a seal. If you would rather have it done for you, call and we will point you at someone.

Before you fit anything, check your dock bumpers. They set how far the trailer stops from the wall, and worn bumpers let a trailer over-compress new foam and shorten the life of the whole seal. New bumpers are cheap next to a new seal.
